The BICL brandmark presented several challenges. It was particularly important in this case to establish the brandmark as the most powerful component of the design as the brand name "Bermuda Investor Community Ltd" is exceptionally long and requires the Brandmark to be distinct enough to allow the use of the acronym "BICL".
The brand has 3 readily identified themes (unsurprisingly) that required representation in the brandmark.
The most relevant of the above points then is to establish the Bermudian theme whilst reinforcing the relevancy of community to the brand.
The modern Bermuda Colour palette has been established by the Bermuda Tourism Authority. The use of the "Bermuda Pink and Blue" is an effective way of establishing the brand to its intended audience, Bermudians.
The second important aspect of the brandmark is the iconograph. For the design of the brandmark, we looked towards the island's Nautical History and sought inspiration there.
We have paired the below brandmark designs with the font "Josephine Sans" which is available via Google Fonts repository and is thus easily applied to the brand's platform/websites and print. The font is licensed under the Open Font License, making it available for commercial usage.
"The idea of this typeface is to be geometric, elegant, with a vintage feeling, for use at larger sizes. It is inspired by geometric sans serif designs from the 1920s."
